If you have even wanted to “pick the brain” of a successful author, this is a rare opportunity to do so. Kathleen McGowan is the author of the bestselling “Magdalene Line” novels, her books have been translated into 50 languages and sold in more than 100 countries worldwide. She has planned a “Writers’ Grail” to help aspiring authors gain inspiration and authenticity through a spiritual and historical journey through sacred sites of Scotland.
Featured destinations include Rosslyn Chapel and the holy isle of Iona. There will also be writing workshops. Please note that this is neither a conventional tour nor is it a writing class. It is a pilgrimage designed to stimulate the inspiration and the creative muse. Appropriate for fiction and non-fiction writers alike, the curriculum of the seminars will only be finalized after Kathleen and her co-host creativity coach Eleanor O’Rourke have familiarized themselves with the personal needs of the group members. After participants sign up for the program, they will receive a preliminary questionnaire asking about their writing goals and desires.
The setting for the workshop part of the tour is historic Iona, a tiny Island in Scotland’s Inner Hebrides. It is the site where Saint Columba established a monastery in 563, and it is said that 48 ancient Scottish kings including MacBeth are buried there.

Please note that Kathleen McGowan’s tours are very popular and tend to fill up very quickly. Her June, 2014 “Mary Magdalene” tour of France sold out in just a few weeks. So anyone with a serious interest should act quickly to avoid disappointment.
