In the early 1980s, when Marion Zimmer Bradley was preparing to write The Mists of Avalon, she needed some help with the research, and the expert she contacted was Jamie George.
Born in Scotland, Jamie moved to England and opened a bookstore in Glastonbury. In the late ’70s he started leading tours around Glastonbury, and this gradually widened to include Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
Ms. Bradley wanted Jamie’s help to learn about the sites associated with King Arthur, including those in Cornwall as well as in and around Glastonbury. In the years after Mists of Avalon had become a best-seller, she returned to go on more of Jamie’s tours. She especially loved Scotland’s Inner Hebrides, Orkney and Iona.
Today, Body Mind Spirit Journeys is pleased to announce that Jamie George will be leading three tours in the British Isles next year – to England, Ireland and Scotland. So you can go with him to many of the same places he took Marion Zimmer Bradley!
