The SACRED ORACLES of EGYPT
A Unique Opportunity to Experience
The Siwa Oasis

A “Next Level” Egyptian Experience, beginning with private sessions in the Great Pyramid, sunset between the paws of the Sphinx, visits to ancient Bubastis, Tanis, and Alexandria.

For five nights in the stunning eco-village of other-worldly Siwa, location of the original Oracle, we invite you to relax in the ancient and poetic atmosphere, where candles replace indoor lamps, torches and firelight replace exterior lighting, and peace rules among crystal clear salt springs, endless stars, and pristine desert landscapes.

THIS TOUR IS NOW SOLD OUT – New registrations will be wait listed

The Shali Village, made of stone and salt!

“I have visited many of the most powerful and magical places on earth, but I am more enchanted by the wild beauty and spiritual strength of the Siwa Oasis than any other location!”

February 22 – March 4, 2024

If you are looking for the next level experience in Egypt, it is here.  If you have ever been fascinated by the culture of Oracles and Prophetess/Priestesses who made their way to Greece and Rome, here is their origin story.  This unparalleled journey will take you to locations out of your most ancient dreams and visions. Siwa is a breathtakingly beautiful Oasis location in the Great Sand Sea, the Northwestern Egyptian desert, filled with hot and cold springs surrounded by lush palm and olive groves. There has been a settlement here since the 10th millennium BC, and the center of the village is a uniquely stunning medieval structure, known as the Shali.  Siwa is a unique blend of the ancient Egyptian and the legendary Berber culture, with some medieval Moroccan influences. The Siwan language, traditions, and dress are entirely their own, with Siwan clothing and jewelry highly coveted and valued by collectors and travelers.

The Great Oracle Temple of Amun is a highlight here, and Kathleen will tell you the stories of the female Oracles and how they all connects to her research into the most important women in the ancient world – of which these oracle priestesses were the most powerful!

Siwa is becoming known around the world for its spectacular eco-resorts (King Charles and Camilla spent part of their honeymoon there to highlight the importance of its green sustainability). Our home for five nights in Siwa is the beautiful and romantic Taziry EcoLodge built at the footstep of the famous Red Mountain of Siwa, facing the magnificent White Mountain, and overlooking the vast Gary Lake and the timeless dunes of the Great Sand Sea. Fresh water from Siwa’s underground natural springs mix with the salt here to create crystal-clear salt lakes and pools, one of which is in the center of Taziry.  Some of these lakes and pools are as salty as the Dead Sea!

Siwa salt spring.

Taziry EcoLodge provides a unique experience, where one can truly soak in the magical energies. Taziry, which means Full Moon, is committed to your peace and tranquility, and there is no electricity in the public spaces: cell phones and other electronics are not allowed within the public areas, and at night all lighting is by oil lamps and torches – this also reduces light pollution for optimum stargazing.  We invite you to embrace this opportunity to live off the grid for five nights, and allow yourself to melt into what some have called the closest thing to a “time travel” experience.  While at Siwa, we will explore this unique environment while also having private time for meditation and personal healing sessions.  Kathleen will take us through some mystery school teachings on Oracular traditions which come through the Amun priestesses who were known as God’s Wives. This content is unique in the world and this is a precious opportunity to access it in a small group of like minded/spirited individuals.

Siwa is unlike anything you can experience in Egypt – or anywhere else!  This is the spiritual adventure of a lifetime!

DAY 2- Friday, February 23: Giza Plateau Morning and Private Sunset Meditation with the Sphinx (B/L)
Sphinx and Great PyramidAs you walk to your exquisite breakfast in the shade of the Great Pyramid, allow yourself to feel the energy of the ancients. The Egyptians believed that words carried magic and today we will learn to speak some of these words as we begin to weave our own magic here. Off to explore Wonders of the World as we cross the Giza Plateau.  Focus on the extraordinary Valley Temple adjacent to the Sphinx, with its enormous stone blocks – today, we still do not know how it was built. And the energy! Feel the light come into your feet through the alabaster floors. A memorable lunch at the 9 Pyramids Lounge, with its legendary view across the plateau. At sunset, we touch and feel the mystery of the Great Sphinx as our journey of spirit and antiquity moves us into a private hour between the paws of this profoundly powerful spiritual monument. The energy of the Sphinx from this proximity, and the ability to touch it and be with it privately, will stay with you forever.

DAY 3- Saturday, February 24: Giza Plateau – New Egyptian Museum* & Private Evening in the Great Pyramid (B/L)
Egypt museumA day of unparalleled experiences! Based on the predicted opening schedule of the new Grand Egyptian Museum, our plan is to begin our day in this spectacular achievement of architecture and content. Scheduled for a Grand Opening in 2023, it will be the largest and most spectacular museum of antiquity in the world! The full range of Egyptian history can be found within this monument, and we will guide you through the highlights. *If the museum has a scheduling set-back, we will adjust accordingly to view what is possible and enjoy the spectacular architectural achievement, with a delicious lunch within the museum space. In the evening, one of the greatest opportunities of any lifetime: our private experience of initiation and meditation within the King’s and Queen’s chambers of the Great Pyramid. Unforgettable!

DAY 4,  Sunday, February 25: To Tanis, Bubastis, and Alexandria (B/L/D)

lost city of Tanis
The “lost city” of Tanis

A final breakfast at the foot of the Great Pyramid, and we depart north for the exotic and exciting ruins of Tanis. It is said that Moses was found in the bulrushes of the Nile River here. Fans of the Indiana Jones franchise may recognize the name Tanis, as the location of the Well of Souls – where Indy tells us he hates snakes! It’s a real location, and we will see it today. Once called the “Lost Capital of Egypt,” Tanis was rediscovered by Napoleon Bonaparte.

statue of Queen Meritamun, Bubastis
Important statue of Queen Meritamun, Bubastis, discovered only in 2001!

Inscriptions in Tanis date from the time of the Great Pharaoh, Ramses II, but Tanis was the most important seat of the pharaohs of the 21st and 22nd dynasties. There are ruins of a great temple here to Amun Ra and smaller temples to his consort Mut (“the seated Sekhmet”) and their son Khonsu. Tanis replaced the Valley of the Kings for royal burials, and there are three tombs here of the only pharaohs which were discovered intact and untouched. We have a picnic lunch before heading to the temple of Tel-Basta, also known as Bubastis, the temple to the feline goddess Bast and once the home to an Oracle Temple of Bastet Priestesses! Kathleen will take you through her research of the Bast Oracles and how they relate to other Greek Oracles – and even early Christian ones! The Festival of Bast was the most joyous and opulent in the Egyptian world, and if you close your eyes and feel into the space, you may glimpse a moment of that essence here. Finally we arrive in the storied city of Alexandria, where we have dinner at our waterfront hotel.

Day 5- Monday, February 26: Morning in Alexandria and Afternoon to Siwa  (B/L/D)

Alexandria
Modern Library of Alexandria

After breakfast we depart for a sightseeing tour of glorious Alexandria where we will visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. Called one of the “Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages,” it really dates back much further to the second century AD, and is three levels cut into the rock. A highlight is the fascinating hybrid artwork, which shows how Egyptian gods were evolving into the Greco-Roman world. Onward to visit the Roman Amphitheater of Alexandria with its display of the sunken monuments which were discovered under the East harbor of Alexandria. On to the spectacular Bibliotheca Alexandrina, located near the site of the ancient library of Alexandria. The modern version is an eleven-story re-imagining of Alexandria’s ancient Great Library, a cylindrical-shaped building that houses more than eight million books. We pause to imagine what life was like in ancient times, when this was a thriving city of philosophy, spirituality, and intellectual pursuits. Lunch at one of the city’s famed fresh fish restaurants before making the journey to Siwa. Nap in the bus and awaken under the imperishable stars as we arrive in Siwa at night. Dinner upon arrival at our stunning ecolodge.

Please note that the day to day itinerary while in Siwa is being finalized at press time while Kathleen is in Egypt, and the order/days of some of these events may change, but all of them will be included.

Cleopatra's bath
Cleopatra’s Bath, a natural hot spring

Day 6- Tuesday, February 27:  In Siwa  (B/D) The Shali, Cleopatra’s Baths
After a leisurely breakfast we will begin our overview of Siwa with a visit to the photogenic Shali, an 11th century fortress built around the village to protect its inhabitants from nomadic invaders. Ruins of the Shali Fortress still exist today, more than 800 years later, although its partial construction of salt has left it in danger of the elements. We are free to roam the unique ruins and time to visit the shops around the Shali for handmade and natural products, from scarves to olive oil.  In the afternoon we will visit Cleopatra’s Bath where legend has it that Cleopatra herself used come from Alexandria to bathe here. Swim in the hot spring or just enjoy the marvelous atmosphere here, and the little shops and cafes shaded by palm trees. Maybe try a Siwa date milkshake (Kathleen’s favorite!) Back to the hotel for relaxation and dinner.

Day 7- Wednesday, February 28: In Siwa (B/D) Temple of the Oracle of Amun, Mountain of the Dead

Temple of the Oracle in Siwa
Gateway, Temple of the Oracle in Siwa

After breakfast we have our morning visit to The Temple of the Oracle.  Although believed to have been built in the 26th Dynasty, there is evidence of an older oracular shrine here, once aligned to the Vernal Equinox. Siwa remained strong throughout the Greco-Roman era and is most famous for the episode of Alexander the Great: in 331 BC, he traveled specifically to Siwa to consult the Oracle about his future and whether or not he was truly the son of Zeus/Amun. Kathleen has collected other legends of the powerful Oracles here which she will share. The temple is imperiled as the rock foundations are cracking, so it is important to appreciate this temple while it is still somewhat intact!  It is a powerful place for meditation.  We will listen closely, and see what message the Oracle has for us (Kathleen has a very special connection to this Oracle, which she will reveal onsite).  In the afternoon we will visit the Mountain of the Dead, where some late-dynasty tombs hold exquisite artwork, before watching the exquisite art of a Siwa Sunset and back to the hotel for dinner.

Day 8- Thurs. Feb. 29: In Siwa Full Day at Taziry Ecolodge (B/L/D)
Today is February 29th, a “day out of time” and we will spend it in the beauty and peace of our magical home at Taziry. Do nothing or do something, up to you! Nasser is available for bodywork and massage, Kathleen will tell stories and lead a meditation on the Oracles. Swim in the springs, rest, journal, or go for optional hikes and explorations back into the village as you prefer. A day to revel in the timeless perfection of this magical place.

Day 9 Friday, March 1 In Siwa – Desert Safari (B/L/D)
camels in deseretFor the more adventurous who choose to, there is a “desert safari” booked today, which takes us in 4-wheel-drive vehicles deep into the Great Sand Sea to explore the unspoiled majesty of the desert (and do a little fun 4 wheeling!) For those who prefer to stay back in the Ecolodge, relaxation, massage, meditation are available to you as well. Farewell Berber Style Dinner tonight.

Day 10- Saturday, March 2: To Marsa Matrouh (B/D)

Cleopatra’s Beach, Marsa Matrouh

We bid a fond farewell to our magical otherworld, and begin the journey back to the modern world. We break up the trip mid-way to spend a night in the beautiful Mediterranean resort town of Marsa Matrouh. This is another location connected to the history’s most famous queen, Cleopatra VII, and it is said that she and Marc Antony loved to be in this place together and it is a backdrop for their love story. We rest here overnight and we dine together for dinner.
