“Aboriginal Australians” are one of the oldest living populations in the world, certainly the oldest outside of Africa. Their ancestors left the African continent 75,000 years ago. And they may have the oldest continuous culture on earth. On this tour with Nancy, we will be visiting, experiencing and sharing the complex genetic history of these Indigenous People that have passed down and shared their history through dancing, stories, song-lines and art that collectively weave in an ontology of modern daily life and ancient creation known as “The Dreaming.”
 
Throughout our journey Nancy will provide various opportunities to enhance our travel experience through meaningful ceremonies, meditations, and initiations. Together, we will connect with the essence of these Indigenous people and their sacred land, exploring how we might expand our consciousness to promote personal growth and restore collective harmony.

Welcome, Fellow ROS Australia Travelers!

Before long, we will gather for a mystical journey to Australia, exploring indigenous wisdom and sacred sites and their relevance in our efforts to expand our collective consciousness. In many ways, this journey promises to be a sensory extravaganza for each of us, awakening insights that stir our souls from slumber. At the very least, it will be a gathering of souls called together to remember and uphold long-forgotten promises to expand our minds and hearts in our collective quest for Peace and Harmony and assume our individual places anchoring Light into our troubled planet.

From personal attunement to group harmonization, we will learn to see with the eyes of the heart to expand our perspectives and allow our inner Light to shine more brightly. With your participation, we can hold space to balance light and shadow, weave threads of personal and universal truths, and restore much needed balance in our inner and outer worlds. Everyone who is called to join this magical journey holds an essential place within our circle. 

So, pack up your Merkabas and healing tools along with your thoughts and intentions and prepare to experience mystical magic on the island continent of Australia.

I strongly suspect we will leave far different than when we arrived.

Spiritual Australia Tour Itinerary

Day 1, Saturday, September 6- Arrival in SYDNEY. Afternoon Touring (D)
On arrival at Sydney Airport, after Immigrations and Customs, transfer to our reserved accommodations. To take advantage of the transfer, please arrive by 12 noon**. This afternoon we will be visiting the Sydney Opera House, that is now considered one of the greatest buildings of all time. The 1-hour tour brings to life the saga behind the making of the world’s most famous house.  Then we meet a First Nation Guide to take us on an Aboriginal Harbour Heritage Tour and admire the beauty and history of Sydney Harbor through the lens of the Gadigal people. You’ll stroll along the stunning Sydney Harbor shore while listening to stories of Gadigal lifestyle, traditions, history and connection to country & community. The original Aboriginal inhabitants of the City of Sydney local area are the Gadigal people. The territory of the Gadi (gal) people stretched along the southern side of Port Jackson (Sydney Harbor) from South Head to around what is now known as Petersham Return to our hotel for our welcome dinner.
**If you cannot make the 12 noon arrival, you can book an airport hotel for September 3, such as the Rydges Airport hotel that is right near the International Terminal.

Day 2, Sunday, September 7- To AYERS ROCK (B/D)
After breakfast, we transfer to Sydney Airport for our flight to Ayers Rock. Upon arrival, transfer to our reserved accommodations. In the afternoon it’s a tour to Kata Tjuta and Uluru (Ayers Rock) at sunset as we journey to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way, stop at a lookout for panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta. Continue to the base of Walpa Gorge where we spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. Later we travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Witness and photograph the striking color changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying nibbles and a glass of wine.

Note: Uluru, the true Aboriginal name for what many people know as Ayers Rock, rises from the broad desert plain in the deep center of Australia and it’s one of the country’s most recognizable natural icons. The famous “Rock” stands about 1,000 feet high. Both Uluru and Kata Tjuta have great Aboriginal cultural significance for the Anangu traditional landowners. Here we will learn about the local flora and fauna, bush foods and the Aboriginal Dreamtime stories of the area.

Day 3, Monday September 8- At AYERS ROCK (B/D)
Early start as our coach will depart just prior to sunrise this morning to the sunrise viewing area to see the Red Center come alight by the first rays of the morning sun. Watch the gradual rising sun change the colors of Uluru (Ayers Rock). Afterwards we return to the hotel for breakfast before continuing our touring. Nothing can give a sense of its size of what we will view except standing beneath the towering 1,000 feet wall of rock. As we tour the Rock’s base we will fully appreciate not only its size but also the way it appears to continually change. We join our driver/guide for an informative guided walk into Mutitjulu waterhole, view Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about flora, fauna and Aboriginal history. Visit the Cultural Centre where there is time to read the Tjukurpa (Aboriginal law) or purchase some locally made Aboriginal art. Return to your accommodation where there is time to relax before our evening experience of an Indigenous Tourism “Night at the Field of Lights” Dinner. Our journey begins on a lone sand dune where a path takes us to an uninterrupted, three-hundred- sixty-degree view of this vast landscape. In front of us is the fabled Uluru; behind are the domes of Kata Tjuta and possibly the most spectacular sunset we have ever seen. Here we will enjoy sparkling wine and a selection of delectable canapés. As the sun sets deep in the desert landscape, we feast on a gourmet bush tucker inspired buffet. After dinner turn our attention to the night sky and enjoy some of the world’s best stargazing, as the local star-talker takes us on a tour of the spectacular southern night sky. As you wind down after dinner, we are offered a choice of tea, coffee or port before returning to our hotel.

Day 4, Tuesday, September 9- To ALICE SPRINGS (B/D)
After breakfast, we board our coach to transfer from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs. Check into our hotel and time to relax before we transfer to the “Earth Sanctuary.” The Earth Sanctuary Spirit of the Outback will give us local information as we watch a spectacular sunset over the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges with an awe-inspiring canopy of stars. Our hosts will captivate us with stories ranging from local ecology, culture and astronomy. This will be followed by the Earth Sanctuary’s famous dinner & show offering a delicious, home cooked gourmet BBQ dinner. You’ll be entertained and amazed by our guide’s knowledge and hospitality.

Day 5, Wednesday, September 10- To DARWIN (B)
Transfer to the airport for our flight to Darwin. Upon arrival, there is some time to relax at the hotel. Perched on a peninsula with sea on three sides, Darwin’s colorful history has contributed to its cultural diversity – more than 50 nationalities make up its 100,000 population, including the area’s traditional landowners, the Larrakia Aboriginal people. The cultural and culinary benefits of such a melting pot. Try one of the local restaurants or relax at your hotel which is situated in the iconic Darwin Waterfront, nestled on the fringe of Darwin’s city center. The hotel features alfresco dining options, bars, a spa, boutiques, green spaces for relaxing and a family friendly wave lagoon.

Day 6, Thursday, September 11- In DARWIN (B/L)
This morning we transfer to the Cullen Bay Ferry Terminal for our Tiwi Island Northern Territory tour. Our itinerary is by Ferry to our starting point. Here we begin a walking tour with our Local Guide. We will have morning tea and a picnic box lunch. The program includes a Cultural Art Workshop and the Patakijiyali Museum visit and where we will have an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the busy day of one of the oldest and most artistically diverse art centers in Australia. After disembarking in the Aboriginal community of Wurrumiyanga on Bathurst Island, we meet our Tiwi Guide who will escort us to the Tiwi Design Art Center where local artists and dancers will perform a traditional Welcome to our Country with a “Smoking Ceremony” and totem dances. Enjoy a typical Tiwi morning tea while getting to know some of the Tiwi Island community members. A walking tour with our guide will take in some of the local painted buildings and the historic mission precinct where we will see the beautiful wooden Catholic church that is featured in the ‘Top End Wedding’ movie. We’ll learn of the Tiwi Creation Story through the mural in the Museum. Then afterwards, there’s some free time to browse at the carvings, paintings and fabric in the art center, and our best opportunity to purchase authentic Tiwi pieces at Island prices. After a rest and lunch in the shade, we will get to participate in an exclusive screen-printing workshop. Choose from contemporary or traditional Tiwi designs to print on to a take-home a t shirt, tea towel or fabric – a wonderful souvenir of your Tiwi visit. In the late afternoon we return to our hotel for the evening on our own and a well-earned rest.

Day 7, Friday, September 12 – To CAIRNS (B)
Transfer to the airport for our early morning flight to Cairns. Lying at the center of a tropical paradise on the shores of Trinity Bay, Cairns/Gimuy is the gateway to some of Australia’s greatest natural attractions. Sitting offshore and shaping the city’s character is the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef, one of the world’s most popular diving sites. To the north of the city lies another World Heritage listed treasure, the ancient tropical rainforests of the Daintree National Park. Upon our flight arrival, we will meet our coach and guide, and we embark on a Dreamtime Gorge Walk that includes viewing a traditional “Smoking” ceremony, stories of the Kuku Yalanji Culture and Traditions all led by an Indigenous Guide, Access to Kuku Yalanji Land. This 1 ½ -hour tour welcomes us with a traditional ‘Smoking’ ceremony that cleanses and wards off bad spirits. Then walk through a stunning rainforest that takes in traditional huts or humpies. We’ll experienced interpretive Indigenous guide demonstrates traditional plant use, identifies bush food sources and provides an enchanting narrative of the rainforest and their special relationship with this unique tropical environment. Our guide demonstrates traditions like making bush soaps and ochre painting. We will enjoy traditional bush tea and damper before our transfer back to the Mossman Gorge Center. Then we are off to the Janbal Gallery for an Aboriginal Art Painting Workshop. During this workshop we can create our own piece of Aboriginal art to show off back home. We will learn about Indigenous art techniques with a renowned Australian Aboriginal artist. The Janbal Gallery Aboriginal canvas painting classes mix art with culture sharing and education. The artist welcomes us into his gallery for his canvas painting classes so he can give us his full guidance and friendly professional attention. At the completion of our workshop, we transfer back to our hotel to rest and dinner on our own.

Day 8, Saturday, September 13- In CAIRNS – Full Day Reef Cruise (B/L/D)
Today, it’s a full day Michaelmas Cay Cruise including lunch. After breakfast we depart from our hotel to the Reef Fleet Terminal to check-in, where we will board your catamaran ‘Ocean Spirit’. This 8-1/2-hour tour takes us to Michaelmas Cay, at the edge of the Outer Barrier Reef. Spend a leisurely day on the Cay; Take a ride in the semi-submersible or try snorkeling in the clear waters, which reveal the magic of the tropical water and its inhabitants. Return to our hotel for our farewell dinner

Day 9, Sunday, September 14- In CAIRNS. Tour Ends or take an Optional 3 day/ 2-night Tour to Perth or to New Zealand (B)
After breakfast we transfer back to the airport for our flights home FROM CAIRNS or take an optional tour to Perth (details to be given in Confirmation)
