Metaphysical Ireland Tour
1st day, Depart for Ireland
Today we depart via our flight to Shannon, Ireland.
2nd day, To Ennis “The Gathering”
Upon arrival in the morning, we are met in the airport begin our mystical journey. This is the day of our gathering, coming together and traveling through Co. Clare. On our way we visit a very special holy well where we will tie a prayer wish to the white May flower trees. Then it’s on to tread lightly at the ring forest of the fairies world at Cabercioggaun. From there to the limestone plateau of the Burren where we will form our circle. The gathering will take place at the Poulnabrone Dolmen. Continue to Ennis for a well deserved dinner and overnight.
3rd day, To Galway “The Pilgrimage”
We leave Ennis and drive west to Connemara. This is a Gaelic speaking area with some of the most rugged and beautiful images in the west of Ireland. We will learn some Gaelic blessings which are a major part of the language and some that we will use later in our journey. It’s onward as we will go to Ireland’s most scenic mountain, Croagh Patrick. This sacred quartz mountain with a bed of gold has been used by Pilgrims from ancient times right up to the present day. Here we will have our evening meditation as we continue only a few miles to the lovely town of Westport for our overnight and dinner.
4th day, To Sligo “Secrets of the Underworld”
After breakfast we depart to the midlands and visit Rathcroghan. This is said to be the seat of the West home to the great Queen Meave of the Femorians. She always seemed to have the upper hand for she bedded with more Kings in Ireland for the sake of knowing their strengths. Then it’s onto Carrowkeel. These are a superb group of Passage graves. Here we will do a visualization and discover for ourselves the energy of these ancient chambers. This evening we will have something very special in mind. Dinner and overnight in Sligo.
5th day, In Sligo “Spirit of the Stones:
The morning will be the day when we will walk under Ben Bulben in Yeats country. Stretch our legs and take in the air. In the afternoon, we travel a few miles from Sligo to the a stone ring of Carrowmore. Here we will connect with the spirit of the stones and let them take us on a journey to places we have never been. On we go for a climb to Knocknarea. This may be the burial place of Queen Meave and its overlooks some beautiful countryside. Return to our hotel and dinner on our own.
6th day, To Drogheda “New Beginnings”
Our first stop will be at Slieve na Calliagh where we will have our quiet time amongst the stones. The onto the Hill of Tara, the seat of the high King and the rightful place of “an Lia Fail”, the Stone of Destiny. This is the day we will visit the interpretation center of the Boyne valley complex. We will have a guided tour of Newgrange, the chamber of Rebirth. The is the most famous Passage grave in Ireland. The carvings of chevrons, spirals and waves are impressive. When the sun rises on the solstices, it directly aligns with the chamber. We will also visit Dowith while we are in the area. Onto Drogheada for our overnight and dinner
7th day, to Dublin “Relics of the Celts”
After breakfast we depart through the Irish countryside to Dublin. After checking in at our hotel, we are going to take a trip within the old quiet walls of the National Museum. Here we will see some of Ireland’s finest treasures such as the Tara Brooch and early Christian chalices. Afterwards it will be on to Trinity College to admire the illuminated manuscripts, the Book of Kells and the Book of Durrow. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
8th day, In Dublin “Valley of the Two Lakes”
After breakfast we will drive south to the Wicklow mountains and visit St. Kevin’s monastery as we walk amongst the ruins and dowse the ley lines running through the site. We then visit some of Ireland’s finest gardens before returning to Dublin. Dinner on your own.
9th day, to Killarney: “The Gateway”
We leave Dublin this morning and out first stop will be at St. Brigid’s Well in Kildare. Then its off to Usneach, claimed to be the center of Ireland where it is said that an ancient tree grew 26 miles high and touched the stars in the sky. The light of the stars fed the four corners of the world. Upon this hill we are going to form our circle and plant a seed that will bring the world together. We will leave with the seed planted in our hearts. If time permits, we will spend some time at the monastery at Clonmacnoise before our evening and dinner in Killarney.
10th day, In Killarney “Earth, Sea & Sky”
After breakfast we drive to the ring of Iveragh Peninsula. This is a beautiful drive in the South West of the country. We will have some random stops along the way. One to overlook the skellig rocks. These are mystical rocks that protrude from the sea like magic worlds. A group of monks lived here in “Clochans” or beehive huts for many years. On our way, we will visit a stone fort, Derynang strand and then to Kenmare, the Druids Stone Circle and a Holy Well. Return to Killarney for your overnight. Dinner on your own.
11th day, To Limerick: “The Scattering”
This morning’s road will lead us to some local sites. We will pay homage to a Sheila na Gig. Then it is on to the site of Lough Gur, the home of the Goddess Aine. Here she resides beneath the lake. This has also the biggest stone circle in Ireland. When the sun sets on Samhain, it splits the circle in two dividing the light from the dark. Here will honor Aine. We arrive at our hotel in Limerick and time to freshen up before we attend our farewell Medieval Banquet.
12th day, To USA “In Mind & Memory”
After breakfast it to Shannon Airport in time for some duty-free shopping before boarding our flight home.
