The 2017 ASEAN ADVANCED ARCHAEOLOGY SYMPOSIUM will include presentations from all the presenters listed PLUS additional programs and talks to be announced later on in the year

There also will be Discussion Panels on various Advanced Archaeological subjects as well as a Demonstration by Klaus Dona of Satellite Radar Scan technology.

PLUS a Grand Opening of the Balanghai Hotel’s new Artifact Wing as part of the event.

The Pre-Conference Angkor Tour will include daily sight-seeing trips to Temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park near Siem Reap which will include the Angkor Thom Complex of Bayon, Ta Prohm and other well-known Temples including an Elephant ride to the Bayon Temple that overlooks Angkor Wat. There will be an all-day trip to the Megalithic mountain Temple Complex of Preah Vihear in NW Cambodia, and a fun (and safe) evening at the Night Market.

SCHEDULE FOR ANGKOR WAT TOUR AND CONFERENCE – April 20-May 1

1st day: Thursday, April 20 – Arrival in Siem Reap
Depart Manila on your Cebu-Pacific flight (suggested flight schedule to be given). Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your reserved accommodations at the Bou Savy Guest House.

2nd, 3rd & 4th  Days: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, April 21, 22 & 23 – In Siem Reap – Full Days of touring (B)
After our daily  breakfast, we have three days of touring that will include the Angkor Archaeological Park; the Angkor Thom Complex; Bayon Temple; Ta Phrom Temple and the Angkor Wat Temple.  Angkor Wat in its beauty and state of preservation is unrivaled in its mightiness and magnificence. Your tours will be joined by many of the Hosts and Speakers, and give an “insiders” look at the largest and best preserved architectural masterpieces of the region that make this area one of the finest sets of monuments in the world.

4th Day: Monday, April 24 – In Siem Reap – Full day to Preah Vihear (B)
Today’s destination will be a full day excursion led by Bruce to Preah Vihear. The temple of Preah Vihear is situated on the edge of a plateau that dominates a vast plain. The temple is composed of a series of sanctuaries linked by a system of staircases over a 2,400 foot -long axis and it dates back to the 9th century. This site is particularly well preserved, mainly due to its remote location, and it has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage status. Return to our guesthouse in the later afternoon.

5th Day: Tuesday, April 25 – In Siem Reap. Evening departure to Butuan City (B)
A full day free for independent activities to visit the local Siem Reap museums, shop and explore. In the evening you will be transferred to the airport for your overnight flight to Butuan City (suggested flight schedule to be given).

6th Day: Wednesday, April 26 – Arrival in Butuan City (D)
Morning Arrival in Butuan City. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your reserved accommodations at the Balanghai Hotel & Convention Center for the remainder of your Conference stay. Full day to relax before dinner.

7th Day: Thursday, April 27 – In to Butuan City – Conference & Symposium (B/L/D)
Full day at the ASEAN Advanced Archaeological Symposium. Program to be announced at a later date.

8th Day: Friday, April 28 – In to Butuan City – Conference & Symposium (B/L/D)
