4 Day/ 3 Night Extension to Delphi & Athens

Optional 6 Day/ 5 Night Greek Islands Plus Ephesus
June 19-24
Referred to as the “Islands of Peace,” the island nation of Malta is steeped in millennia of layers of spiritual history. What better place to tour sacred sites and discover masterpieces of church architecture and art than these jewels of the Mediterranean, the mystical Islands of Malta. Malta is home to the oldest man-made structures on earth – the mysterious and magnificent megalithic temples. It’s tremendously significant as the centuries-old home of the Knights of Saint John and has deep Templar connections. The importance of Malta in WWII can’t be underestimated in terms of geo-political impact, and Malta is one of the few places in the world that is directly and verifiably discussed in the Bible.
For those who have a few more days, there is an Optional Extension to Greece to connect with the powerful energies of the Greek Gods and Goddesses. In addition to staying in the “Cradle of Civilization,” Athens, we will tour Mycenae, Epidaurus and Delphi.
Come join Kathleen and friends on this special spiritual journey in the cradle of human history and spirituality!

Eleanor O’Rourke is a creativity coach and author. Trained by Caroline Myss, she uses archetypal analysis to uncover the patterns that make up who we are. Muriel Rukeyser once said “The world isn’t made of atoms, it’s made of stories.” These stories live inside us. Uncovering the ones that hold us back and discovering the ones we resonate with leads us on a fascinating journey to our innate creativity. ITINERARY
Day 1 Sunday, June 9: Arrival in Malta (D)
Arrival in Malta where you transfer on your own to your hotel accommodations.
Day 2 Monday, June 10: Excursion to Valetta and the Blue Grotto (B/L/D)
After a leisurely breakfast we depart the hotel for a tour of Valetta. Valletta is named after the French Grandmaster Jean Parisot De La Valette, who headed the defense of Malta from the Ottoman invasion in 1565. Valletta boasts many buildings from the 16th century, mostly baroque architecture that was built by the Knights of St. John. One could say that Valletta is actually a monument donated by the Knights. Walk to the Upper Barracca Gardens for a panoramic view of the Grand Harbor. Then on to St. John’s Cathedral, Malta’s greatest treasure, featuring the famous painting by Caravaggio. We proceed to Wied iz-Zurrieq to view the Temple of Mnajdra and the Hagar Qim Temple. Mnajdra is a temple that holds Cosmic and Earth time. It aligns the Masculine and Feminine energies! Hagar Qim Temple was built like a clock in a clock to map all time. After lunch, we continue our afternoon touring with a boat ride into the Grotto (weather permitting) to view the magnificent underwater flora. Return to our hotel for dinner.
Day 3 Tuesday, June 11: To Mellieha & Combino (B/L/D)
Today we visit the Sanctuary of our Lady, located at the edge of a hill, in the heart of Mellieha. Built in the late 19th century, this church is popular both for pilgrimages and for the magnificent views it offers over Mellieha bay, Gozo and Comino. The older part of the sanctuary still stands today, dating back to the late 16th century. The monumental arch was built in 1719, to honor the blessing of rain after an extended time of drought. The inscription to Our Lady states “In thee have fathers hoped; they hoped and thou hast delivered them.” The crypt was one of the natural caves found in the northern part of Malta. According to tradition, the Byzantine style fresco showing the Virgin Mary holding Christ was painted by St. Luke, when he was shipwrecked on the island. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in the town of Rabat or Mdina. After lunch we will visit the Crystal City Portal. Legend says that beneath the surface of Gaia is another world called Agartha – the fifth dimensional cities and kingdoms of Inner Earth. Before the great floods inundated the beautiful green-valley which is now the Mediterranean Sea, many of the sages, priests, elders and enlightened masters of Atlantis went to live beneath the Earth’s surface. They went to the Crystal City situated under Maltese soil and sea. On our way back to our hotel, we will also visit the Dingli Cliffs and the chapel dedicated to Mary Magdalene! It is believed that she stopped here prior to her final destination in France. Dinner and overnight at our hotel after a long day.
Day 4 Wednesday June 12: To Mosta, Hagrat & Skorba (B/L/D)
An early start as we head straight to Mosta, a fairly large village in the center of the island. The Mosta Church is believed to be one of the most concentrated energy spots in Malta. The Mosta Dome is the fourth largest dome in the world and an imposing structure, which bridges the past, the present and the future: the past, as it connects with the prehistoric temples and the goddess energy; the present, as it holds the Christ energy in its core, and the future, as it is the opener of the portal of the future where it connects the four natural elements of fire, water, earth, and air to the ether. From here you head up to Ta’ Hagrat, a sacred site where energies were anchored and transmitted. Ta’Hagrat consists of two adjacent temples, the older one dates back to the Ggantija phase (3,600-3,200 BCE). After lunch, we journey to Skorba temples that were excavated in the 1960s. This excavation resulted in the discovery of two temples, that also date back to the Ggantija and the Tarxien (3,150-2,500 BCE) phases. Skorba, a space of anchoring cosmic energies, was occupied long before the temples were built. The earliest remains consist of a stretch of wall dating back to the Ghar Dalam phase (5,000-4,300 BCE). Remains of wheat, lentil and barley seeds together with pottery, animal bone and stone tools were found next to this wall. The Skorba temple is probably the most ancient site in Malta and has very powerful energy among the stone circle family. It is possible that the rest of the temple is still buried underground. At the end of this exciting day, we return to St. Paul’s Bay for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5 Thursday, June 13: To Gozo – Meet with Francis (B/L/D)
An early start with a ferry ride to the magical island of Gozo, the legendary abode of Calypso. Gozo’s charm is apparent the moment you arrive there and Gozitans have their own individual character and identity, with noticeably different lifestyles, accents and dialect. Here Francis will join us at the Qala viewpoint to give an overview of the Temple’s history and to connect with the three mountaintops of Malta (Power); Comino (Wisdom) and Gozo (Joy & Love). If time, we will also stop to experience a Menhir – a standing stone. We continue to the Xewkija Chuch and its powerful vortex. Then a special visit to the breathtaking cliffs of Ta’Cenc, where we will spend time in meditation and connecting with the energies of this sacred place. Ta’Cenc allows cosmic communication. We will stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to visit the Ggantija Prehistoric Temples in Xaghra. Ggantija was a Cosmic healing Center and it is connected to the human consciousness and the Divine mind. We conclude this exciting day with a visit to the Citadel (Citadella) and some time for local shopping. Return to our hotel for dinner and our overnight.
Day 6 Friday, June 14: To Totarxien & Hypogeum (B)
After breakfast we start our day with a short walk to visit the Dolmen Temples in Bugibba. After a short visit and meditation, we continue to the astonishing subterranean temple, the Hypogeum, recently called “One of the world’s best preserved prehistoric sites” by the Smithsonian and a place of extraordinary construction and energy. We will drive to the southern part of the island and start with a visit to the complex of megalithic temples of Tarxien, Malta’s most important antiquities. The group here will be split into groups of 10 where one group will visit the Tarxien Temples, a school of wisdom, and the second group of 10 will visit the Hypogeum Temples. After each group’s visit, they will switch Temple visits. Discovered in 1902 during construction works, the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum is a complex made up of interconnecting rock-cut chambers set on three distinct levels. Earliest remains at the site date back to about 4000BC. Hypogeum helps connect our inner self to the Earth. It was also a school of dream interpretation and telepathic communication. After both Temples have been visited we will head down to the fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Marsaxlokk has an old history dating back to the ninth century BC. It was in this bay that the first Phoenicians arriving in Malta landed and set up their businesses. Marsaxlokk’s hill of Tas-Silg was used as a religious site and still contains remains of megalithic temples of the Tarxien phase. Today Marsaxlokk is a charming village with its traditional, brightly painted Luzzus, tasty fish restaurants and its green water. After some relaxing time and lunch, we return to our hotel where you have dinner on your own.
DAY 7, Saturday, June 15: In Valetta. (B/D)
A full day free in Malta’s capital and time to do some independent exploring as well as shopping. In the evening, we have our Farewell to Malta dinner.

2 OPTIONAL POST-TOURS TO GREECE
WITH KATHLEEN
Optional Tour: JUNE 16-19 – DELPHI & ATHENS
Day 1- Sunday, June 16 Arrive Athens. Onto Nauplion (D)
Upon arrival in Athens, and after clearing Immigration and Customs, we board our coach and depart for Nauplion. Mid-way we will have dinner at a seaside restaurant. After dinner we proceed to Nauplion for our overnight accommodation in a delightful local boutique hotel.
Day 2- Monday, June 17: To and Epidaurus, Mycenena & overnight Delphi (B/L/D)
A full day of touring today as we will visit some of the most spiritual places in Greece and escape the modern world, immersing ourselves in the antiquity. We leave Nauplion for Epidaurus, reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo’s son Asklepios, the healer. Epidaurus was known for its sanctuary as well as its theater, which is once again in use today. The cult of Asklepios at Epidaurus is attested to have been in the 6th century BC. Epidaurus was the most celebrated healing center of the Classical world, the place where ill people went in the hope of being cured. In their dreams, the god himself would advise them what they had to do to regain their health. Asklepios, the most important healer god of antiquity, brought prosperity to the sanctuary. Even after the introduction of Christianity and the silencing of the oracles, the sanctuary at Epidauros was still known as late as the mid 5th century, as a Christian healing center in Greek mythology. Then we go back to 1350 BC to the ancient city of Mycenae home to the Kingdom of the mythical Agamemnon. In Greek mythology the city was founded by Perseus, who gave the site its name either after his sword scabbard (mykes) fell to the ground and was regarded as a good omen. Perseus was the first king of the Perseid dynasty which ended with Eurytheus (instigator of Hercules’ famous twelve labours). The succeeding dynasty was the Atreids, whose first king, Atreus, is traditionally believed to have reigned around 1250 BCE. Atreus’ son Agamemnon is believed to have been not only king of Mycenae but of all of the Archaean Greeks and leader of their expedition to Troy to recapture Helen. We will have lunch at a local tavern and then view the Cyclopean walls and the Lioness Gate before continuing to Delphi for dinner and overnight.
Day 3- Tuesday, June 18: Tour of Delphi and to Athens. (B/L/D)
After an early breakfast we leave our hotel to explore Delphi, the home of the ancient oracle, one of the most famous, mystical sites in the world. After the Acropolis, Delphi is the most popular archaeological site in Greece. In ancient times, it was considered the center of the known world, the place where heaven and earth met, and where man/woman were considered closest to God/Goddess. First, we visit the magnificent Temple of Apollo, located in a spectacular mountain setting. Apollo Delphinus or Delphinius was the dolphin-form of the god that was revered at Delphi, despite its location high in the mountains. The oracle that was located at this site was said to be founded by Apollo, the God of Healing and Oracles. Oracles were given once a month and would attract people from all over Greece. The temple was destroyed by fire in the fourth century BC and then rebuilt. The temple walls were inscribed with of wisdom such as “Know Thyself” and “Nothing in Excess.” This spiritual experience, whereby the spirit of Apollo was asked for advice on critical matters relating to people’s lives or affairs of the state, was a “magical” occurrence for several thousand years. And, the fact that the town still attracts a million visitors a year could make one believe some of that magic is still there. If you have a belief that you can receive guidance from other realms, can keep an open mind, and are receptive when you are at the Oracle, it may be a magical and enlightening experience. Time allowing, we may visit the ancient springs that pre-dated the temples and whose water is purported to have special healing powers. There will be some short time for personal meditation to experience the very special qualities of this site and a quick lunch, before we depart for Athens. Upon arrival in Athens, we will have a tour featuring the ancient sites such as the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and end our tour with a visit to the incredible Acropolis of Athens on foot, seeing one of the most important world heritage sites on the planet that includes the Parthenon, the all-marble temple dedicated to the goddess Athena, daughter of Zeus and Goddess of wisdom, war, and crafts that was long the religious shrine and high fortress for the Athenian people. Onto the Acropolis Museum. The Acropolis Museum that houses more than 3.000 famous artifacts from the Athenian Acropolis. The Museum narrates the story of life on the Rock from prehistoric times until the end of Antiquity. We then check into our hotel to refresh ourselves followed by a late dinner at a typical taverna in Plaka. Overnight in Athens.
