This dramatic effect happens because those amazing Maya constructed their pyramid to be precisely aligned with the angle of the sun during the time of the Vernal and Autumnal equinoxes.

The Feathered Serpent deity was also part of Aztec spirituality. They named it Quetzacoatl. The being is considered to be an allegory that represents dualism – as its wings allow it to fly in the sky, while, being a snake, it also travels along the ground among the other animals of the Earth.

How You Can Experience the “Serpent” in Person

You can witness the Shadow of the Serpent come to life, as part of the Body Mind Spirit Journeys tour group in March, 2020.

The “Sacred Pyramid Tour of Yucatan” will happen March 11 – 19, 2020, and Monday, March 16th is the date we will be at Chichen Itza to witness the serpent shadow phenomenon in person.

The small group tour will be led by Cliff Dunning from Earth Ancients.
