Kathleen McGowan is the author of the bestselling “Magdalene Line” novels, her books have been translated into 50 languages and sold in more than 100 countries worldwide. She has planned a “Writers’ Grail” to help aspiring authors gain inspiration and authenticity through a spiritual and historical journey through sacred sites of Scotland.<\/p>\n

Featured destinations include Rosslyn Chapel and the holy isle of Iona. There will also be writing workshops. Please note that this is neither a conventional tour nor is it a writing class. It is a pilgrimage designed to stimulate the inspiration and the creative muse. Appropriate for fiction and non-fiction writers alike, the curriculum of the seminars will only be finalized after Kathleen and her co-host creativity coach Eleanor O\u2019Rourke have familiarized themselves with the personal needs of the group members. After participants sign up for the program, they will receive a preliminary questionnaire asking about their writing goals and desires.<\/p>\n

The setting for the workshop part of the tour is historic Iona, a tiny Island in Scotland’s Inner Hebrides. It is the site where Saint Columba established a monastery in 563, and it is said that 48 ancient Scottish kings including MacBeth are buried there.<\/p>\n
