There is a theory that the chapel was built to hold the Holy Grail, the actual cup Jesus used at the Last Supper.<\/p>\n

And then there is the ET connection\u2026<\/p>\n

According to the website \u201cUFO Insight\u201d there have been so many UFO sightings near Rosslyn Chapel, many believe there is a wormhole to another part of the universe on the grounds or within the chapel itself that aliens use to travel between their world and ours.<\/p>\n

What we know for certain is that Rosslyn Chapel was founded in 1446 by William St Clair, 3rd Prince of Orkney and dedicated in 1450 as the Collegiate Chapel of St Matthew. Today the Chapel is owned by the Earl and Countess of Rosslyn and managed by the Rosslyn Chapel Trust<\/a>, which was established in 1995.<\/p>\n

Visitors are amazed by the intricate, detailed carvings. But are they secret coded messages? The Scottish composer Stuart Mitchell studied the 213 cubes carved in the chapel ceiling for 20 years and concluded they spell out a six-minute piece of music for 13 medieval players.<\/p>\n

Mysteries are everywhere. Why does a carving around one window look like ears of corn, when that North American plant was unknown to Europeans until it was seen by Christopher Columbus, 50 years after the chapel was completed?<\/p>\n

What is the significance of the figure bound with rope and hanging upside down? Students of Freemasonry say this sculpture represents Lucifer, the fallen angel, which is significant in Masonic rites.<\/p>\n
