Alex Grey is the artist best known for his paintings of the human body that depict multiple layers of reality, revealing us as spiritual as well as physical beings. His powerful Sacred Mirrors series (which took ten years for him to complete) were on display in New York City for five years. Now, a selection of those paintings, along with much more work by Alex and Allyson Grey, have been moved to Wappinger Falls, NY in an elegantly restored old house in the heart of the Hudson Valley.
For some time now, the Greys have been conducting full moon ceremonies on their property, and Body Mind Spirit Journeys is offering you the chance to participate in one next spring over the Easter long weekend. The tour includes a meeting with Alex and Allyson Grey in their studio and a pre-ceremony workshop as well as the full moon ceremony itself.
Dates for the event are March 28 through 31, 2013, and it will be hosted by Amy Nelson. In addition to organized events, there will be free time for group members to explore the grounds on their own, exploring several art installations, a labyrinth, reflecting pond, and even an apiary with beehives. Also included are accommodations, transportation from Harrisburg, PA and some meals.
Here is a paragraph from the tour description: “The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM) is a sanctuary of seeing ourselves, the world and our cosmos as reflections of the Divine. CoSM’s mission is to build a temple to preserve and share a collection of visionary art beloved by a global community. To honor the mystic core of love uniting all wisdom traditions, and the transformative power of art to awaken human potential.”
