Sunday: Depart from NYC’s JFK Airport / Tour Begins
Depart from New York's JFK Airport on your overnight flight to
Cairo.
Note: Body Mind Spirit Journeys will be happy to assist you with your
connecting flight arrangements to JFK.
Day 2,
Monday: Arrive in Cairo
Morning
arrival at Cairo International Airport,
where you meet your local tour representative to obtain your Egypt Tourist
Visa, clear Immigration and help at Baggage Claim & Customs. You then meet
your Tour Director and transfer to your hotel near the Great Pyramid and
Sphinx. On your way to your hotel, you will have a mini-panoramic
sightseeing tour of
Cairo.
Check in to your accommodations and you still have some time to explore your
beautiful surroundings; gaze in awe at the Great Pyramid from the hotel
grounds. You are really here in this ancient land of mystery!! Dinner on
your own. Overnight Cairo.
Day 3,
Tuesday: In Cairo / Pyramids & Sphinx / OPTIONAL Visit to the
Egyptian Museum (B)
After a buffet breakfast, there’s a tour to experience the timeless
Sphinx
and the magnificent Pyramids of the Giza Plateau, some of the oldest,
enigmatic and ageless wonders of the ancient world. Take in the wonder,
absorb the beauty, and take a few minutes to meditate in these palpable
energies. Later in the morning, visit a local perfume factory near
the Sphinx to learn about the ancient Egyptian art of aromatherapy,
and choose some essential oils for meditation and healing. In the afternoon,
you have the option to visit the world-famous
Egyptian Museum,
whose collection of relics dating back to 4,000 BC includes the priceless
treasures of King Tut-Ankh-Amon. You will see the intricate
workmanship and the tiniest details of the contents of the luggage packed
to accompany him to the next world. Return to the hotel in time for
dinner on your own. Overnight Cairo.
Day 4,
Wednesday: In Cairo / OPTIONAL Tour to Sakkara (B)
Today
you’ll enjoy a full day at leisure to explore
Egypt’s capital.
Or after breakfast, depart to
Sakkara,
part of the great necropolis of ancient
Memphis,
to visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser, believed by archaeologists to be
the oldest known of Egypt's 97 pyramids. Traditional
Egyptologists state that about 2630 B.C. Imhotep, architect to
King Zoser, masterminded the Step Pyramid at Sakkara for his burial. Explore
the historical aspects of this ancient site, as well as the metaphysical
ones at the area where sound healing took place in ancient times.
Leaving Sakkara, stop for a traditional Egyptian lunch at a nearby
restaurant, followed by a visit to a local carpet factory to see
local children being trained for a trade by master craftsmen. Return to the
hotel. The remainder of the afternoon and evening are at leisure and
dinner is on your own. Overnight Cairo.
Day 5,
Thursday: To Luxor / Karnak Temple (B)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to
Luxor.
You will be met and escorted
to your hotel where you have the balance of the day to relax. This
evening, depart for
Karnak Temple
to view this magnificent structure under the stars. Once connected to
Luxor Temple, two miles away, by a long avenue of Sphinxes,
Karnak
is the largest columned temple in the world, and was dedicated
to Amun-Ra, the Power of Creation, and his wife Mut.
View the numerous temple areas built by various pharaohs over time,
including gigantic obelisks which were beacons to the pilgrims
who made their way here in ancient times. Return to the hotel for a late
dinner on your own. Overnight Luxor.
Day 6,
Friday: In Luxor / Abydos & Dendera / to Cairo or Luxor for those taking the
optional cruise (B)
Depart
for Abydos,
the ancient temple complex dedicated to the mystery cult of
Osiris, God of Death and Resurrection. Ancient Egyptians were required
to make a pilgrimage to
Abydos
at least once in their lifetimes. Today is your pilgrimage. View the
temples dedicated to many of the Gods and Goddesses, with colors that are
some of the most vibrant and well-preserved in all of Egypt, as well as the
famous Abydos
“Helicopter”.
The mysterious Osireion, a part of the complex that is believed by
some independent Egyptologists today to be much older than the rest of the
complex, was built with gigantic megalithic stones that are only
found elsewhere in Egypt at the Valley Temple of the
Sphinx. On the way back to Luxor, stop at Dendera, the ancient
healing temple dedicated to Hathor, Goddess of Love and Protectress
of Dance and Music. Visit the famous Dendera Zodiac and other
important areas with your Egyptologist guide. Then retire to the sacred
lake area for private meditation time. Return to Luxor. Dinner is on
your own. Overnight Luxor for those taking the Optional cruise. For those
returning to JFK on Saturday, a late night flight back to Cairo and
overnight at the airport hotel.

Temple / Colossi of Memnon / Sail to Edfu (B/L/D)
This morning you depart to the Necropolis of Thebes, along the
West Bank of the Nile. In The
Valley of the Kings
you visit sites that depict ancient daily life and esoteric teachings about
the afterlife. The next stop is
Queen Hatshepsut's magnificent Temple to Amun at Der el
Bahari. Take a few minutes in one of the out-of-the-way areas to
connect with the energies of one of the most famous of all the
female Pharaohs who assumed the male role of “King”. There
will also be a brief photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon, (the
remains of two huge statues of Amenhotep III, and his beloved
consort, Tiye, the mother of the famous
Akhenaten). On the way back to the cruise ship, stop at a local
Alabaster Factory, where you will see demonstrations of how this stone
is worked into many different and beautiful items. Time for making your

After
an early breakfast you board a horse-drawn carriage to Edfu Temple,

ancients, the principle of the realized male, the Higher Self.
This was a great teaching temple and an ancient university.
Return to ship for lunch. Leisure time in afternoon to enjoy sailing,
swimming, sunbathing or just relaxing. In the evening, there’s a visit to
the Temple of Kom Ombo, the only ancient
temple dedicated to two Neters, Horus and Sobek
(the crocodile-headed Neter of Digestion & Assimilation).

one of the world's most beautiful resort towns, noted for its
